Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (about 1 oz)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 to 8 sandwich buns
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker or large pot.
- Add the cream cheese block on top of the chicken.
- Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix evenly over the chicken.
- Cook on low for 6 hours in the slow cooker, or simmer on the stovetop for 45–60 minutes until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Shred the cooked chicken directly in the pot.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve warm on sandwich buns.
Notes
- Use pepper jack instead of cheddar for a spicy kick.
- Top with sliced green onions for added freshness.
- Add hot sauce for more heat.
- Serve over rice or pasta as an alternative to buns.
- Chicken thighs can be used for richer flavor.
