Ingredients
- 1 can (21 ounces) apple pie filling
- 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Separate the crescent roll dough into individual triangles and lay them flat.
- Spoon apple pie filling onto the wide end of each triangle, including some syrup.
- Sprinkle cinnamon over the filling if desired.
- Roll each triangle from the wide end to the tip, enclosing the filling.
- Place the dumplings seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
- Optionally sprinkle extra cinnamon on top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Best served warm.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
- Roll the dough tightly to prevent filling from leaking.
- Puff pastry can be used instead of crescent dough for a flakier texture.
- Add chopped nuts or dried fruits for extra flavor and texture.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven for best texture or microwave for quick warming.
- Can be frozen individually for up to 1 month.
