Ingredients
- 1 pound (450 g) pizza dough
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup Alfredo sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each into a 6-inch circle.
- In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Spoon the filling onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border.
- Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape and crimp edges with a fork to seal.
- Place the calzones on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Don’t overfill the calzones to prevent leaking.
- Customize with vegetables like spinach, broccoli, or mushrooms.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Freeze baked calzones for up to 2 months; reheat directly in oven.
