These Big Mac Sloppy Joes combine the bold, tangy flavors of a classic fast-food burger with the hearty comfort of a sloppy joe. It’s a quick, easy meal that’s fun, cheesy, and perfect for lunch or dinner.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 to 6 sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 to 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 to 6 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1½ cups shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Drain excess grease.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, relish, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the meat.
  6. Spoon mixture onto the bottom halves of buns. Top with shredded cheese and lettuce, then close the sandwiches.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Stir cheese directly into the meat for added richness.
  • Add pickles or hot sauce for more flavor.
  • Keep lettuce and buns separate when storing leftovers.
