Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking until golden brown and fragrant. Pour into a mixing bowl and let cool slightly.
- Stir in brown sugar and granulated sugar until blended.
- Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then fold into the wet mixture.
- Fold in chopped chocolate and nuts if using.
- Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until edges are set and center is soft but no longer wet.
- Cool completely in pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
- Substitute white chocolate for a sweeter version.
- Add caramel swirl or dried cranberries for variety.
- Don’t overmix or overbake to keep blondies chewy.
- Double the recipe for a 9×13-inch pan and adjust baking time accordingly.
- Freeze individually wrapped squares for up to two months.
