Ingredients
- 10 chicken legs or wings
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- Pat the chicken legs dry with paper towels to help the glaze adhere better.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, minced garlic, olive oil, black pepper, paprika, and salt until smooth.
- Arrange the chicken legs in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken and turn the pieces to coat them well.
- Bake for about 35 minutes.
- Halfway through baking, spoon some of the sauce from the pan over the chicken to help build a sticky glaze.
- Continue baking for another 10–15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and caramelized. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
- Spoon the remaining sauce from the pan over the chicken before serving.
Notes
- Patting the chicken dry helps achieve better caramelization.
- Marinating the chicken for 2–8 hours can deepen the flavor.
- Add chili flakes or hot sauce for a spicy variation.
- Fresh grated ginger can be added for a warm aromatic flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes to maintain the glaze.
