Ingredients
- 1 box Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit mix
- 1 lb sausage
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix, sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and milk. Mix until a thick, cohesive dough forms.
- Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, roll the mixture into 1–2 inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the sausage balls with melted butter for extra flavor and color.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Use turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter version—add a bit more cream cheese to maintain moisture.
- Mix in chopped jalapeños or herbs like parsley or chives for extra flavor.
- Make mini versions for appetizer platters or party trays.
- To store, refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days; freeze for up to 2 months.
- Reheat in the oven at 325°F for 8–10 minutes or microwave briefly before serving.
- Use a gluten-free biscuit mix to make the recipe gluten-free.
