This Cheeseburger French Fry Bake turns a classic diner combo into a cozy casserole, combining juicy ground beef, creamy cheese sauce, crispy fries, and melted cheddar into one delicious dish.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed golden mushroom soup
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 (16 oz) package frozen French fries (shoestring or crinkle-cut)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
  4. Stir in both soups until well combined and heated through.
  5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Top with frozen French fries in a single layer.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until fries are golden and crispy.
  8. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over top and return to oven until cheese melts.
  9. Let rest a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use cream of onion or cream of chicken soup instead of mushroom for variety.
  • Try tater tots as a fun substitute for fries.
  • Mix in Worcestershire sauce or mustard for extra burger flavor.
  • Top with pickles or tomatoes after baking for a cheeseburger-style finish.
  • Reheat covered in the oven or microwave individual portions.
