Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup (240 ml) ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup (120 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (120 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 bag (20 oz / 560 g) frozen French fries
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the diced onion for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and cook while breaking it apart until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Season the beef with salt, black pepper, and paprika, stirring well to combine.
- Add ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the beef layer.
- Arrange the frozen French fries on top in a single layer.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until fries are golden and crispy and cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven, rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve.
Notes
- Arrange fries in a single layer for maximum crispiness.
- Add chopped pickles to the beef mixture for a tangy burger flavor.
- Ground turkey or chicken can be used instead of beef.
- Colby Jack or Monterey Jack cheese can replace cheddar.
- Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
