Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese of choice)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8‑count)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1 tablespoon melted butter for brushing tops
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, and shredded cheddar. Season with salt and pepper.
- Unroll crescent dough and separate into 8 triangles.
- Place a heaping tablespoon of the chicken‑cheese mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll each triangle toward the point, gently tucking the sides to enclose the filling.
- Place rolls on the prepared baking sheet. If desired, brush the tops with melted butter for a richer finish.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Replace cheddar with mozzarella, pepper jack, or a cheese blend for a different flavor profile.
- Add chopped spinach, green onions, bell peppers, or herbs to the filling for extra texture and freshness.
- You can use leftover chicken, rotisserie chicken, or even canned chicken (drained and shredded) as a time‑saving option.
- Assemble ahead and refrigerate; bake just before serving for best texture.
- Leftovers can be stored refrigerated up to 3 days and reheated in the oven to preserve crispiness. Fry‑pastry alternatives like puff pastry can also be used, watching baking time carefully.
