Ingredients
8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
Optional: Italian seasoning or chili flakes for extra flavor
Instructions
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin to make rolling easier.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over each slice of bread.
- Roll up each slice tightly, sealing the edges with gentle pressure.
- Mix melted butter with minced garlic or garlic powder to make garlic butter.
- Brush each rollup generously with garlic butter.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the rollups, turning until all sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning, chili flakes, or fresh herbs inside the rollups.
- Switch up the cheese with Monterey Jack, provolone, or pepper jack.
- For added crunch, roll buttered rollups in breadcrumbs before frying.
- Add a slice of pepperoni, ham, or turkey for a protein boost.
- To bake instead of fry, cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat in an air fryer or skillet to maintain crispiness.
