Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 ¾ cups sugar

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 ½ tsp baking powder

1 ½ tsp baking soda

2 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

½ cup vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

1 lb fresh strawberries

2 cups chocolate ganache

1 cup white chocolate (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat until smooth.
  4. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).
  5. Pour batter evenly into pans; bake for 30–35 minutes. Cool completely on wire racks.
  6. Prepare ganache and spread between layers, then cover top and sides.
  7. Melt white chocolate and dip strawberries; let set until firm.
  8. Decorate cake with dipped strawberries before serving.
