Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 package (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onion is soft, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spread beef mixture evenly into prepared baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
- Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Add 1 cup corn or green beans to the beef mixture for added vegetables.
- Swap ground beef for ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Stir in chopped jalapeños for a spicy kick.
- Use cream of chicken or homemade white sauce as a soup substitute.
- Broil for 2 minutes at the end for extra crispy tots.
