Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 package (32 oz) frozen tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until beef is browned and onion is soft (about 5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Add frozen corn or green beans for extra vegetables.
- Swap in ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- For extra heat, add chopped jalapeños to the beef mixture.
- Use cream of chicken or homemade white sauce instead of mushroom soup.
- Reheat in the oven to maintain crispy texture.
