Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons salted sweet cream butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons pure peppermint extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • Pink or red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add peppermint extract and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  3. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until a stiff dough forms.
  4. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring and gently knead until evenly distributed.
  5. Roll into 1/2-inch balls or pipe into decorative shapes using a piping bag with a star tip.
  6. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm.
  7. Serve chilled and store leftovers in the refrigerator.
