Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients to make a smooth, thick batter.
- Pat marshmallows dry and insert skewers if using.
- Dip marshmallows into batter, fully coating each one.
- Carefully lower into hot oil and fry for 20–30 seconds, turning gently until golden brown.
- Remove with slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain.
- Serve immediately with optional toppings like powdered sugar or sauces.
