11 cups cottage cheese

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

About 12 lasagna noodles (cooked or oven-ready)

1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce

1 egg (optional, for mixing with cottage cheese)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley or basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and turkey sausage over medium heat until browned; drain excess grease.
  3. Stir marinara sauce into the meat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix cottage cheese with egg (if using), salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Layer noodles, cottage cheese mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, ending with mozzarella on top.
