Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos are a crunchy, cheesy snack made by coating mozzarella cheese in crushed Doritos and frying to golden perfection. Bold, fun, and delicious, they’re the ultimate indulgent party treat or late-night snack.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Doritos chips (any flavor)
  • Mozzarella cheese (cut into cubes or sticks)
  • All-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Panko or regular bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)

Instructions

  1. Crush the Doritos in a food processor or in a sealed bag using a rolling pin until finely ground.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and crushed Doritos mixed with panko in the third.
  3. Pat mozzarella pieces dry with paper towels.
  4. Dredge each mozzarella piece in flour, dip into egg, then coat in the Doritos crumb mixture. Repeat egg and crumb step for a double coating.
  5. Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the coated cheese in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or spicy mayo.

Notes

  • Dry cheese well to help coating stick and prevent splattering.
  • Double coating helps prevent cheese leakage and adds crunch.
  • Try with different cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack.
  • Can be baked at 425°F for 10–12 minutes for a lighter version.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze uncooked breaded cheese for up to 1 month.
