Garden Gator Eggs are spicy stuffed jalapeño appetizers filled with a creamy cheese mixture, wrapped in smoky turkey strips, and baked until golden and slightly crisp. These bite-sized snacks deliver a perfect balance of creamy, savory, and spicy flavors.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 20 pieces

Ingredients

  • 10 fresh jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 10 smoked turkey strips, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Wash the jalapeños thoroughly, slice them lengthwise, and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeño half.
  5. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with half a smoked turkey strip.
  6. Place the wrapped jalapeños seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the turkey is slightly crisp and the filling is bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Removing all seeds and membranes will make the jalapeños milder.
  • You can use mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar.
  • Do not overfill the jalapeños to prevent the filling from spilling out.
  • Mini sweet peppers can be used for a non-spicy version.
  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 10–12 minutes as an alternative cooking method.
