Ingredients

  • 4 slices thick-cut sourdough bread
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Spread the garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Flip the bread slices over and divide the mozzarella and cheddar cheese between two slices (on the non-buttered side).
  4. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwiches in the pan.
  6. Grill each side for 3–4 minutes, pressing slightly, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from the skillet, let cool for a minute, slice, and serve.
