- For the base:
- 1 box yellow cake mix (about 430 g)
- 120 g unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- For the cream cheese layer:
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 400 g powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease or line a 23×33 cm (9×13 inch) baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix the cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until a thick dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, then gradually mix in the powdered sugar until smooth.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the base and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the edges are set and lightly golden while the center remains slightly gooey.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the pan.
- Slice into bars and serve.
