Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking for 3–5 minutes until softened. Add mushrooms if using and cook until tender.
- Push vegetables to one side of the skillet. Add ground beef and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula until browned.
- Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with the vegetables.
- Lower heat and place provolone slices over the beef. Cover the skillet for 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Slice hoagie rolls and toast lightly if desired. Spoon cheesy beef mixture into each roll.
- Serve immediately while hot.

- Use cheddar, mozzarella, or American cheese for variety.
- Add sliced jalapeños or red pepper flakes for heat.
