Cheeseburger Egg Rolls are crispy fried rolls filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, and classic burger flavors, delivering the taste of a cheeseburger in a crunchy appetizer.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 egg rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 to 3 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • Ketchup for dipping (optional)
  • Mustard for dipping (optional)
  • Burger sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef for about 5 to 6 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until the onion softens and the beef is fully cooked.
  3. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute while stirring.
  5. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  6. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until evenly combined.
  7. Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface in a diamond shape and add about 2 tablespoons of filling in the center.
  8. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold the sides inward.
  9. Roll tightly toward the top corner and seal the edge with beaten egg.
  10. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  11. Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or fryer.
  12. Fry egg rolls in batches for 3 to 4 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy.
  13. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  14. Serve warm with dipping sauces if desired.

Notes

  • Add diced pickles to the filling for a classic cheeseburger flavor.
  • Pepper jack cheese can replace cheddar for a slightly spicy version.
  • Cook in an air fryer at 380°F for 10 to 12 minutes for a lighter option.
  • Finely chopped bell peppers or mushrooms can be added to the filling.
  • Avoid overfilling the wrappers to prevent bursting during frying.
