Ingredients
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) white cake mix
- 1 box (3 ounces) orange gelatin dessert mix
- 2 tablespoons freshly grated orange zest
- 1/2 cup (113 grams) salted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 bag (11 ounces or about 2 cups) white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine white cake mix and orange gelatin powder until evenly blended.
- Add softened butter and eggs. Mix until a thick dough forms.
- Fold in orange zest and white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls. Place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Do not overbake to maintain soft centers.
- Butter should be softened but not melted.
- For stronger citrus flavor, add a few drops of orange extract.
- Cookies will firm up as they cool.
- Can be made ahead and dough refrigerated up to 24 hours.
