Ingredients
- 1 cup tomato ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, salt, and water. Stir to combine.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool before using or storing.
Notes
- Use smoked paprika for a more intense smoky flavor.
- Add chili powder or cayenne for extra heat.
- Stir in honey or extra brown sugar for added sweetness.
- Simmer longer if you prefer a thicker sauce.
