Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (plus extra for greasing the pan)
- 1/2 cup melted chocolate or chocolate spread for filling
- Optional toppings: berries, banana slices, whipped cream, chopped nuts, powdered sugar
Instructions
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
- Gradually whisk the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until smooth. Let batter rest for 15–30 minutes.
- Heat a lightly greased non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Pour a small ladle of batter into the pan and swirl to coat the surface in a thin circle.
- Cook for 1 minute or until the edges lift, then flip and cook for another 30–60 seconds.
- Remove crêpe and keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter.
- Spread melted chocolate or chocolate spread on each crêpe, fold or roll, add toppings, and serve.
Notes
- Add sliced bananas or strawberries inside for extra flavor.
- Use peanut or almond butter instead of chocolate for a nutty variation.
- Add orange zest to the batter for a citrusy touch.
- Make vegan/gluten-free by using plant milk, oil instead of butter, and gluten-free flour.
- Try a ricotta and honey filling with a drizzle of melted chocolate.
