Ingredients
- 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup raw honey
- 1/2 cup whole milk or heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Peel and chop sweet potatoes into even chunks. Place in a large pot of cold water.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook for 15–20 minutes, until fork-tender. Drain well.
- Return potatoes to the pot and mash until smooth.
- Stir in butter and honey while potatoes are still warm.
- Gradually add milk or cream, mixing until desired consistency is reached.
- Season with salt and cinnamon, adjusting to taste.
- Serve warm, with optional extra honey drizzle or butter on top.
Notes
- Swap butter with vegan butter or coconut oil and use dairy-free milk for a vegan version.
- Replace honey with brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
- Add nutmeg or ground ginger for more spice.
