Ingredients
- 2 black tea bags (or 2 tsp loose leaf tea)
- 4 cups water, divided
- 1 ripe mango (or frozen mango cubes or mango nectar)
- 2 tbsp honey (or substitute with sugar)
- Ice, for serving
Instructions
- Boil 2 cups of water and steep the tea bags in a large pitcher for about 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, dice the mango and cook it with the remaining 2 cups of water in a saucepan.
- Bring the mango mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, mashing the mango into a pulp.
- Strain the mango mixture into the tea pitcher to remove pulp.
- Stir in honey until fully dissolved.
- Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate or serve over ice with fresh mango slices.
Notes
- Use green or herbal tea instead of black for a different flavor profile or to make it caffeine-free.
- Add lemon juice or fresh mint for extra brightness.
- Use mango nectar for convenience, but reduce added sweetener accordingly.
- Make mango tea ice cubes to prevent dilution from regular ice.
- Shake or stir well before serving if storing for later.
