A retro no-cook appetizer featuring crisp celery sticks filled with a creamy blue cheese and cream cheese mixture, topped with briny green olives for a crunchy, tangy party bite.

Ingredients

  • 8 celery stalks, washed and trimmed
  • 115 g cream cheese, softened
  • 85 g blue cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 16 pitted green olives
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash the celery stalks thoroughly and trim the ends.
  2. Cut each celery stalk into pieces about 7–8 cm (3 inches) long.
  3. In a medium bowl combine the softened cream cheese, crumbled blue cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  4. Mix until the filling becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Using a spoon or piping bag, fill the hollow center of each celery stick with the cheese mixture.
  6. Slice the green olives in half and gently press one half into the top of each filled celery piece.
  7. Arrange the Martini Sticks on a serving platter.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
  9. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes before serving for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese to make the filling smooth and easy to pipe.
  • Prepare the filling up to 3 days in advance and store in the refrigerator.
  • Fill the celery shortly before serving to keep it crisp.
  • Chopped walnuts or pecans can be added to the filling for extra texture.
  • Feta, goat cheese, or extra cream cheese can replace blue cheese for a milder taste.
