Ingredients
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup marshmallow creme
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon maple extract (optional)
- Biscuits, English muffins, or toast for serving
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, water, and butter.
- Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil while stirring.
- Add the light corn syrup and stir well.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sugar dissolves and a smooth syrup forms.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Immediately stir in the peanut butter and marshmallow creme.
- Mix until the spread becomes smooth and creamy.
- Add the vanilla extract and maple extract if using, and stir until fully combined.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly until it thickens to a spreadable consistency.
- Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate. Serve on toast, biscuits, muffins, or crackers.
Notes
- Creamy peanut butter creates the smoothest texture, but crunchy peanut butter can be used for added texture.
- Honey or maple syrup can replace corn syrup for a natural sweetener option.
- A pinch of cinnamon can add a warm flavor twist.
- The spread thickens as it cools.
- If it becomes too firm after refrigeration, let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes or warm slightly.
- Always stir before serving to restore a smooth consistency.
