A creamy, rich Alfredo pasta inspired by Olive Garden, made with fettuccine, butter, cream, and Parmesan cheese for a restaurant-style comfort dish you can make at home.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter without letting it brown.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently. Let it heat for 3 to 4 minutes until warm and slightly thickened.
  4. Reduce heat to low and gradually add the Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss until evenly coated.
  7. Serve immediately while hot and creamy.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results and smooth melting.
  • For added richness, stir in extra butter at the end.
  • Add a splash of pasta water to thin the sauce if needed.
  • Pairs well with grilled chicken or steamed vegetables.
