Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine pasta
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and cook the fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter without letting it brown.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently. Let it heat for 3 to 4 minutes until warm and slightly thickened.
- Reduce heat to low and gradually add the Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the sauce is smooth.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately while hot and creamy.

- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results and smooth melting.
- For added richness, stir in extra butter at the end.
- Add a splash of pasta water to thin the sauce if needed.
