Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, rub orange zest into sugar to release oils.
- Cream the orange sugar with butter until light and fluffy (3–5 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract, sour cream, and orange juice.
- Gently fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, tenting with foil after 45 minutes if needed.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest for the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over the cooled cake before slicing and serving.
