All the flavor of a Philly cheesesteak wrapped inside soft biscuit dough—these handheld bites are perfect for parties, casual dinners, or satisfying snacks.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 8–12 cheesesteak bombs

Ingredients

  • 812 ready-made biscuit dough rounds
  • 8 oz ground beef (80% lean) or 1 cup diced steak strips
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: sautéed mushrooms or a spoonful of cheese sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef or steak and cook until browned.
  3. Add chopped onion and bell pepper, and cook until softened.
  4. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Flatten each biscuit dough round and add a spoonful of the beef mixture in the center.
  6. Top with a generous pinch of shredded cheese.
  7. Wrap the dough around the filling, pinching edges to seal and forming a ball.
  8. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Swap provolone for cheddar or pepper jack for different flavors.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms for a traditional twist.
  • Brush tops with melted butter and garlic powder before baking for extra flavor.
  • Use leftover steak slices for added richness.
  • Ensure seams are sealed tightly to prevent opening during baking.
