Ingredients
- 2 cups white granulated sugar
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- Green grapes
- Crushed hard candies (preferably Jolly Ranchers)
- Pink food gel
- Cotton candy dram oil
Instructions
- Wash and thoroughly dry the green grapes to ensure no moisture remains. Skewer each grape and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, a few drops of pink food gel, and a small amount of cotton candy dram oil.
- Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Increase heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature, cooking until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat. Working quickly, dip each skewered grape into the hot candy mixture, coating evenly.
- Immediately roll the coated grape in crushed hard candies, then place it on a silicone baking mat.
- Let the candied grapes cool completely until the candy shell hardens.
Notes
- Ensure grapes are completely dry before coating to prevent stickiness.
- Do not refrigerate the candied grapes as moisture can soften the shell.
- Use different food coloring or candy flavors for themed variations.
- Work quickly once the syrup is ready, as it hardens fast.
