Ingredients

  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
  2. Spread the butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Turn the bread over and spread pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of each slice.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce on two of the slices.
  5. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwiches in the pan.
  7. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, flipping carefully, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from the skillet, let cool slightly, and slice before serving.
