Ingredients
- ½ cup salted butter (1 stick)
- 15 ounces mini marshmallows (reserve 1 cup)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 9 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Instructions
- Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Add marshmallows (reserve 1 cup) and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Fold in cereal and reserved marshmallows until evenly coated.
- Transfer mixture to prepared pan and gently press into an even layer without compacting too firmly.
- Allow to cool at room temperature for 1 hour until set.
- Cut into 12 squares and serve.
Notes
- Melt marshmallows over low heat to prevent hard treats.
- Do not press mixture too firmly into the pan.
- Store in an airtight container up to 3 days.
- Freeze individually wrapped squares up to 3 months.
- Avoid refrigeration to maintain chewiness.
