This Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread combines two beloved comfort foods into one irresistible dish—juicy, flavorful sloppy joe meat spread over crispy garlic bread and topped with melted Colby jack cheese. Perfect for easy dinners, parties, or game nights.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces frozen garlic bread loaf, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 15 ounces sloppy Joe sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded Colby jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Let the garlic bread thaw.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter and sauté onions until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook for 5–6 minutes, breaking it up until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in sloppy joe sauce, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Place both halves of the garlic bread butter-side up on the baking sheet.
  6. Spread sloppy joe mixture evenly over the bread halves. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let rest briefly, garnish with parsley (optional), and slice to serve.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add bell peppers or mushrooms for extra texture.
  • Swap in French bread or baguette if preferred over frozen garlic bread.
  • Prepare sloppy joe mixture ahead for easy assembly.
  • Reheat in oven for best texture or microwave for convenience.
