Ingredients
- 3–4 lbs apples, peeled, cored, and sliced into wedges
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup apple juice or water
- 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice apples into thick wedges. Place them in the slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Sprinkle the mixture over the apples and toss gently to coat.
- Pour apple juice or water over the apples and add vanilla extract.
- Distribute butter pieces evenly on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours or on high for 1½–2 hours, stirring once or twice.
- Once apples are tender and glossy, serve warm.
