Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 large onion, sliced
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef and onion soup mix until well mixed.
- Shape the mixture into evenly sized patties.
- Spread sliced onion across the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place beef patties on top of the onions.
- Pour beef broth evenly over the patties and onions.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until patties are fully cooked and tender.
- Gently stir to coat patties in the onion gravy before serving.
Notes
- Add sliced mushrooms for extra flavor.
- To thicken gravy, stir in a cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water) during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Use ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
- Prepare patties and onions the night before for easy assembly.
