Ingredients
1 (17.5 oz) package snickerdoodle cookie mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
3 tablespoons caramel topping
2 teaspoons cinnamon sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease an 8-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine snickerdoodle cookie mix, softened butter, and egg until a dough forms.
- Drop half of the dough in spoonfuls across the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon sugar.
- Spread the apple pie filling evenly over the dough layer.
- Drop remaining dough in spoonfuls over the apple layer.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 teaspoon of cinnamon sugar on top and drizzle with caramel sauce.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
- Let cool slightly and serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Try with peach or cherry pie filling for a different flavor.
- If no caramel sauce is available, use maple syrup or powdered sugar as a substitute.
- Add a dash of nutmeg or allspice for extra warmth.
- Homemade sugar cookie dough with cinnamon sugar can replace cookie mix.
- Reheat leftovers in the microwave or oven for best results.
