Ingredients
- 2 garlic bread loaves
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve about 2 tablespoons of pasta water.
- Return the spaghetti to the pot, add the marinara sauce, and cook over medium heat for 3–5 minutes until evenly coated. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
- Slice the tops off the garlic bread loaves and hollow out some of the interior to create bread bowls.
- Brush the inside and edges of the bread bowls with olive oil.
- Divide the spaghetti evenly between the bread bowls.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the pasta.
- Place the filled bread bowls on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Leave enough bread around the edges of the loaf to keep the bowl sturdy.
- Brushing olive oil inside the bread helps prevent sogginess.
- Add vegetables like mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- A mix of cheeses such as mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan creates a richer topping.
- Serve immediately while the bread is crisp and the cheese is melted.
