Spaghetti Garlic Bread Bowls are crispy hollowed garlic bread loaves filled with saucy spaghetti and topped with melted mozzarella, baked until bubbly and golden for a comforting and creative pasta dish.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 garlic bread loaves
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve about 2 tablespoons of pasta water.
  3. Return the spaghetti to the pot, add the marinara sauce, and cook over medium heat for 3–5 minutes until evenly coated. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed.
  4. Slice the tops off the garlic bread loaves and hollow out some of the interior to create bread bowls.
  5. Brush the inside and edges of the bread bowls with olive oil.
  6. Divide the spaghetti evenly between the bread bowls.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the pasta.
  8. Place the filled bread bowls on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Leave enough bread around the edges of the loaf to keep the bowl sturdy.
  • Brushing olive oil inside the bread helps prevent sogginess.
  • Add vegetables like mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • A mix of cheeses such as mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan creates a richer topping.
  • Serve immediately while the bread is crisp and the cheese is melted.
