  • Total Time: 3 hours 5 minutes
  • Yield: 8 to 10 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 1/4 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, and place them in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are well coated.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 2½ to 3 hours or on low for 5 to 6 hours.
  6. Check for doneness at the earliest time to avoid overcooking.
  7. Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot and stir to mix it with the sauce.
  8. Serve as desired or store for later use.

Notes

  • Use your favorite BBQ sauce to customize flavor (sweet, smoky, or spicy).
  • For a less sweet version, reduce or omit the brown sugar.
  • Add chili powder or paprika for extra depth.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
