Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 3 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup Colby Jack cheese, grated
- 1 (10 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
- ⅕ cup milk
- ½ cup French’s fried onions
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon all-purpose seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped garlic, diced bell peppers, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced mushrooms, bacon bits
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Press ground beef evenly into the bottom of the dish. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle chopped onion on top.
- Layer thinly sliced potatoes over the beef and onions, seasoning again.
- Spread grated cheese evenly over the potatoes.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and all-purpose seasoning. Pour mixture over the top.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 70–80 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Remove foil, sprinkle French’s fried onions on top, and bake uncovered for 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a fresh salad or crusty bread.
