Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 2–3 cups frozen French fries
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or preferred blend)
- 1/2 cup milk (for cheese sauce)
- 3–4 large flour tortillas or wraps
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional extras: sour cream, hot sauce, guacamole, pico de gallo, jalapeños
Instructions
- Preheat oven, air fryer, or deep-fryer and cook fries until golden and crispy. Set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add taco seasoning and a splash of water; simmer until well combined. Season with salt and pepper if needed.
- In a saucepan over low heat, warm the milk. Add shredded cheese and stir until melted into a smooth cheese sauce. Keep warm.
- Warm tortillas briefly in a skillet or microwave until pliable.
- To assemble, lay out each tortilla. Add a layer of seasoned beef, then crispy fries, and drizzle with cheese sauce. Add optional toppings as desired.
- Fold in the sides and roll up tightly from bottom to top.
- Toast wraps seam-side down in a skillet over medium heat for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
- Let rest for a minute, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use two types of cheese for better flavor and melt (e.g., cheddar + Monterey Jack).
- Homemade fries work great if baked or air-fried until crispy.
- Warm tortillas before filling to prevent tearing.
- Make vegetarian with plant-based meat or sautéed beans and veggies.
- Reheat in skillet to restore crispiness if stored.
