- 2 large egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- Marinara sauce for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
- Add the egg whites to a medium mixing bowl and whisk lightly until slightly frothy.
- Add the grated parmesan cheese and any optional seasonings.
- Gently fold the mixture together until fully combined and able to hold its shape.
- Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, form small balls from the mixture.
- Place the cheese balls into the air fryer basket with space between each one.
- Air fry for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown and crisp on the outside.
- Carefully remove the cheese balls and allow them to cool for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Finely grated parmesan creates the lightest and crispiest texture.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket for even cooking.
- Add cayenne pepper or chili flakes for a spicy version.
- Romano or asiago cheese can be mixed with parmesan for extra flavor.
- Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray for extra crispiness.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer for 1 minute to restore crispness.
- These cheese balls are best served fresh and warm.
