Ingredients
- 1 heaping cup blackberries (about 170 g)
- 1/2 heaping cup raspberries (about 75 g)
- 1/2 heaping cup blueberries (about 75 g)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Place blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Cook for 4–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until berries soften and release juices.
- Mash the berries gently with a spoon or fork to break them down into a sauce-like consistency.
- Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup if using.
- Slowly add chia seeds while stirring continuously to prevent clumping.
- Let the mixture sit for a few minutes to begin thickening.
- Transfer to a jar or container and refrigerate for 1–2 hours until fully set.
Notes
- Chia seeds naturally thicken the jam without pectin.
- Adjust sweetness depending on berry ripeness and preference.
- Frozen berries can be used if thawed slightly before cooking.
- Add extra chia seeds if jam is too runny after chilling.
- Blend for a smoother jam if desired.
