Ingredients
- 1 prepared 9-inch pie crust
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and press it gently into place. Crimp the edges if desired.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
- Spread the cooked onions evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
- Sprinkle cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese evenly over the onions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
- Pour the egg mixture carefully into the pie crust over the cheese.
- Sprinkle chopped parsley on top.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
- Allow the quiche to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Cook vegetables before adding them to avoid excess moisture.
- Swiss, Monterey Jack, or feta cheese can be substituted for cheddar.
- Quiche can be served warm or chilled.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
