  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12–18 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) cake mix (any flavor)
  • 1/2 cup neutral oil (vegetable or canola)
  • 2 large eggs
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1/4 cup sprinkles
  • Optional: 1/3 cup chopped nuts
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon citrus zest or pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix cake mix, oil, and eggs until a thick dough forms.
  3. Stir in any optional add-ins if using.
  4. Scoop about 1½ tablespoon portions and roll into balls.
  5. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.
  7. Let cookies rest on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to cool.

Notes

  • Do not overbake for soft, chewy texture.
  • Dough will be slightly sticky—this is normal.
  • Melted butter can replace oil for richer flavor.
  • Freeze dough balls for quick future baking.
  • Works with any cake mix flavor for variety.
