- 2 tablespoons cornflour
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken by cutting into small bite-sized pieces or shredding if pre-cooked.
- In a bowl, mix chicken with cornflour, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add 1 tablespoon water and continue cooking until the chicken is fully cooked and coated in a light, glossy sauce.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using as a bao filling.

- Add chili flakes or sauce for a spicy variation.
- Mix in vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra texture.
- Use chicken thighs for a juicier result.
