- 1 tbsp milk for brushing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- In another bowl, whisk warm milk and egg, then add to dry ingredients along with butter.
- Mix until a soft dough forms, adding warm water gradually if needed.
- Knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled.
- Punch down the dough and divide into 8 to 10 equal portions.
- Flatten each portion, add chocolate in the center, and seal into a ball.
- Place on a lined baking tray, cover, and let rise again for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and brush buns with milk.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.
